The rain that fell in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday afternoon brought relief from the humidity, but waterlogging made the drivers sweat on the roads. Earlier, Delhi-NCR started with light rain in the morning. By noon, the weather became pleasant due to wind. This gave relief to the people from the humidity. After noon, the rain intensified in NCR including Delhi and Noida. Heavy rain occurred in many areas. At the same time, some areas remained wet with clouds. By 5:30 pm, 12.4 mm of rain was recorded in entire Delhi. Highest rainfall was recorded in Mayur Vihar. The rainfall recorded here was 46.5 mm. In this too, about 46 mm of rain occurred in the two hours of 2:30-5:30 pm. The lowest rain of 2 mm was recorded in Pusa.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 32.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees Celsius below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.4 degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius less. It is predicted that light rain will continue in Delhi-NCR for the next two days, while heavy rain is expected from Saturday to Monday on the weekend. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for three days.

After the rain in the capital, the air remains in the satisfactory category. On Wednesday the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 60, which is in the satisfactory category. In most areas the AQI was recorded above 100. Delhi’s air remained in the satisfactory category overall. According to the CPCB, Greater Noida recorded the lowest air quality index in NCR. The AQI here was 52, which is in the satisfactory category. 63 AQI was recorded in Gurugram, 61 in Noida, 59 in Ghaziabad and 70 in Faridabad.
